Vladimir Yastreba

Education: Higher education at St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture (1975-79) Occupation: director, producer, distributor

From 1981 to 1983 – worked in the studio „Moldova – Film“ (Moldova) Since 1983 lives in Bulgaria. He has worked at „Boyana Film“ cinema center (Bulgaria), studio „Screen“ (Bulgaria). He has been a representative of the Russian film studio „12 A“ in Bulgaria, producer and participant in joint projects for feature films between Russia and Bulgaria, distributor of videos of Russian films. He is the initiator and organizer of the opening of a movie theater for Russian films at „Shipka“ as part of the Russian Cultural – Informational Centre in Sofia, a representative of the Fund for development of Russian cinema in Bulgaria, a representative of the State Committee for Cinematography of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria, a representative cinema concern „Mosfilm“ in Bulgaria. He has been director of the International Festival of Eastern European Cinema „Black Sea Star“ (Albena) and has assisted in the preparation and conduct of the Week of Bulgarian Cinema in Russia. From 1995 till present, he promotes films from Russia and CIS in Bulgaria and he offers and provides Russian films to all film festivals and television in Bulgaria. He organizes and conducts Panorama of Russian films in various cities in Bulgaria. Since 2003, he is assistant at the Russian Cultural and Information Centre in Sofia, head of the „Cinema“ department.
