Csaba Varga is licensed teacher of mathematics and art. He produced his first amateur film in 1970 while still working as a teacher. His first officially listed film “Fading in Time” (Időben elmosódva) was produced in 1977 in the Pannonia Film Studio.In 1989 he started the independent Varga Film Studio.
Csaba Varga directed many successful films and numerous productions that became worldwide success after 1992.
During his life, he was engaged in several areas of art, such as painting, sculpturing, poetry and composing music.
In 1999, he established the Frig-Publishing company. Whilst running the company, his main work is now researching the archaic culture of humanity.
Csaba Varga became famous with his clay, puppet and drawing animations. The best known of them are: Fading in Time (Időben elmosódva) – 1980; The Luncheon (Ebéd) – 1980; Augusta Feeds her Baby (Auguszta etet) – 1984; The Wind (A szél) – 1985; Cupboard Tales (Szekrénymesék) – 1987; Beasts (Bestiák) – 1993; Don Quijote – 1999.
In 2000, Csaba Varga’s film “The Wind” was selected as one of the best 10 European animated short films of the 20th century.
