Berin Tuzlic

Berin Tuzlic was born in Sarajevo in 1969, where he completed his primary and secondary education. In 1989, he published his first comic called ‚Tarzan‘ in Sarajevo magazine Male Novine. In 1993, he made the comics ‚Cvijetni Macak‘ (‚Flower Cat‘), ‚Zambak‘ and ‚Bosman‘ for the Transinternational Production House in Sarajevo. In 1995, Berin Tuzlic left for Rijeka, Croatia, where he worked for Novi List daily with his strip ‚Morcic‘. He also published a coloring book and a strip ‚Kuna a Tisucu Boja‘. In 1996, he worked as phasing expert on the featurelenght animation ‚Segrt Hlapic‘. After that, he became a member of a group of artists called The Zagreb School of Cartoons. In 1998, Berin Tuzlic returned to Sarajevo where he made several advertising cartoons. He won a prize for the most inventive strip hero, ‚Marcos‘, at the Festival of Strip and Cartoons in Rome, Italy in 1999. At the same time, he worked as an animator, book illustrator and he worked for Sarajevo children‘s magazines Palcic and 5 Plus. From 2000 to 2001 he made videos for Sarajevo band Knock Out, a promotion film for BH Gas, a cartoon advertisement and also the comics ‚Marcos, Bice Buducnosti‘ (‚Marcos, The Being of the Future‘) under patronage of the Sarajevo Cantonal Ministry of Culture and Education.
